Statement of Faith
I
Believe…
The
Bible
The entire Bible is
God-inspired and without errors as recorded in the original manuscripts. God’s truth is fully and clearly
revealed through the Bible; it does not need to be interpreted through other writings.
God
One God exists as three
persons – the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. They are co-equal, and each One is fully
God.
Jesus
Christ
Jesus Christ is both
God and the Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and physically died on the cross to make
payment for the sins of mankind. When He took on a human nature He never ceased to be God; He was both fully God
and fully man. He rose from the dead and ascended to heaven, where He acts as the High Priest and Mediator for
all believers.
The Holy
Spirit
The Holy Spirit is a divine
person, equal with God the Father and with the Son. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to empower believers to
carry out the Father’s will and to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. He
indwells, guides, and instructs believers, giving each one spiritual gifts for godly living and service.
Heaven and
Hell
Heaven and hell are
real places. Heaven is the place where God resides; true followers of Jesus Christ will spend eternity with Him
in heaven. Hell is the place that God created for Satan and his fallen angels to be punished for their rebellion
against Him. People who are not followers of Jesus Christ will spend eternity in
hell.
Man
Mankind has a sinful
nature and is spiritually dead – that is, separated from God. We would be hopelessly trapped in this state were
it not for God’s grace and spiritual regeneration, through faith in His Son, Jesus
Christ.
Salvation
People are saved from
hell by admitting that they are sinners and by accepting, by faith, Jesus’ sacrificial death in their behalf.
Salvation cannot be attained by church membership or by good works; it is a gift of God's grace, obtained
through faith.
